Local Home Medical Equipment Provider 5/28/2009
NIAGARA FALLS, NY – On Saturday, June 7th 2008, Health System Services (HSS) of Niagara Falls, will be helping local veterans take part in Niagara / Buffalo’s First “Honor Flight”. The program has arranged for 33 Western New York Veterans to travel to Washington D.C. and visit the World War II Memorial. However, many of those veterans are in need of a wheelchair in order to fully enjoy the day’s festivities.
“When the Friends and Family Support Association (FFSA) at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Base contacted me, I immediately thought of my father” explained Health System Services President Robert Minicucci. “The fact that he is a WWII vet himself made the donation of these wheelchairs that much more meaningful”.
As part of their sponsorship, Health System Services has agreed to provide wheelchairs to each and every veteran who may need one during their trip to Washington, D.C. Each veteran is accompanied by a “guardian” who will assist them during travel, including use of their wheelchair in the airport and throughout the day.
Cindy Jones of FFSA simply stated, “Without the help of Health System Services, I’m not sure all of Veterans would be able to fully enjoy the trip”. For more information on Niagara / Buffalo’s first “Honor Flight” visit: www.honorflight.org
